PDS® II (polydioxanone) is an absorbable monofilament suture that provides extended wound support — chosen when tissue heals slowly and prolonged strength retention is essential.
PDS II retains tensile strength far longer than most absorbables, with meaningful support out to several weeks and complete absorption by hydrolysis in approximately 180–210 days. As a monofilament it minimises tissue trauma and bacterial adherence.
Typical uses include abdominal fascia closure, paediatric cardiovascular tissue, and other applications where slow, dependable absorption is required.
